This tool is used to set and lock the crankshaft into the TDC (Top Dead Center) position when servicing the VANOS and cam timing components on BMW M52tu and M54 Engines. This is required when replacing cam chains, cam chain guides, camshafts or when removing and replacing the cylinder head on BMW M42, M44, M50, M52, M52TU, M54, M56, M57, M57TU, M60, M62, M62TU, M70, M73, S50B30, S50B32, S54 & S62 Engines
