Complete kit with both bearings and press tool for removal/installation. Compatible with 5/6/7 series spanning 1997 through about 2010 (see fitment info below) as well as the E52 Z8 and first generation E53 BMW X5 models through 2006.
The bushing/bearing is for the outside mounting point of the lower Swing Arm. This bushing contains a sealed ball joint that typically lasts a very long time but is in constant motion and supports the load from the wheel and the large Swing Arm.

A worn control arm bushing will cause the alignment to change beyond the required spec and affect tire wear. A really bad bushing will even affect toe alignment in a straight line, not just in the corners. Drivers will often note that the rear of the car does not feel planted or complain of wandering or loose feeling as the car no longer tracks straight down the road.
This control arm is designed and engineered in Germany by Meyle to match or exceed the OEM part in every way. Meyle sees their products as an "OEM Premium" level of quality and value. Meyle emphasizes research, engineering, and testing even when reproducing an original design. Meyle parts are developed strictly in line with the guidelines and specifications of their own engineers in Hamburg, Germany and overseen and tested in the production process. Meyle parts are manufactured under ISO/TS 16949 standard, TUV approved, and have a four year warranty.
