Also called toe bushings, these are a common failure item on 3 Series cars. The poorly designed webbed rubber stock bushing deteriorates rapidly under hard driving and track conditions, resulting in toe changes indicated by a "floating" rear-end or, in advanced cases, loss of control. Mono-ball spherical bearing parts are the best for performance, but will transmit some noise. The ultimate solution to stiffen up a track or race car.
