This is the outer tie rod end with the ball joint. While it's technically possible to replace only the outer ball joint it's our experience that the inner sees just as much wear as the outside and they should be replaced together. But if the inner joint is fine, the outer ball joint boot is damaged, or any other reason this is a the OEM-type replacement. Worn tie rod ball joints will give a loose and disconnected steering feel as well as clunking sounds. Since the tie rods are the only direct link between your steering wheel and the wheels it's crucial to inspect tie rods annually, or more often on track-driven cars. Replace the tie rods if any play or wear is evident.
This tie rod end is a Heavy-Duty design from Meyle. Meyle HD parts are designed and engineered in Germany using an OE+ approach. Meyle engineers use the original design but with several improvements in materials and design to make a ball joint that lasts longer and performs better than the stock link. Meyle HD parts are true upgrades that surpass OEM parts but without compromises to noise or ride quality. Meyle HD parts are TUV approved and have a four year warranty.
