This set of spring perches and springs install on your existing shocks and struts and give you the same height adjustment as coil-overs.
No welding required - these slide over your existing front strut tubes and rear shock bodies. This kit fits with the smaller 45mm strut housing used on 320i (see below for 51mm 323i coil-overs).
Use your existing shocks - OEM, Bilstein, KONI, or other. Removing your spring seat is not required but will improve access for height adjustments and improve clearance for wider wheels or negative camber. You can revert to stock springs by simply removing the GC perch.
Height adjustable through a 2 inch range (slightly more on the front). The supplied springs may have a ride height that is too low for those on original 13" wheels. A 14", 15", or 16" wheel works best.
Use with stock shock mounts or upgrade to camber plates.
Select a spring rate based on intended use - street, mixed-use, or full track. Springs are a common 2.5" diameter and made by Eibach.
On cars with integrated wheel hubs like E21 and E30 a true built-from-scratch coil-over is cost prohibitive and not very common. Or you find cheap coil-overs with questionable engineering or development. Using coilover sleeves has been a common shortcut for years. Ground Control produces a similar kit for E30 models racing in the SpecE30 class so the concept is well-proven. These sleeves fit over your existing shocks with little or no modification required.
