Race Rear Lower Shock Clevis Mount - E82, E9X Non-M

This double-shear mount is the lower rear shock mount for non-M E82, E90, and E92 race/track cars using a spherical bearing in the lower shock mount (i.e. - an M3-style lower mount). Instead of sourcing M3 rear lower arms, and the expense, these clevis mounts fit on the factory non-M3 arms but allow you to use M3-style racing rear shocks.

Since the stock non-M rear shock is a pin-mount a true race spherical mount has been hard to source. The few we have seen did not provide the proper shock angles. We have experimented with urethanes and Delrin but a spherical bearing is superior. We worked with MCS to develop this double-shear mount that works with the 12mm spherical bearing on MCS racing shocks (possibly others too).

One aspect that we focused heavily on was the angles that the shock went through during its travel. We designed the mount to position the shock so that binding and side loading is minimized or eliminated. Without a careful design, the side loads will put the shock into bind which will dramatically shorten the life of the shock. The unique geometry came from our IMSA racing programs (which required us to use stock non-M arms).

Price is for the pair of lower clevis mounts with hardware and bushing spacers for 12mm MCS shocks (mounting bolt is 10mm).

This clevis design may work with other brands of racing shocks if they fit within the 25.5mm width of the clevis and use a 12mm I.D. bearing. Custom bearing spacers may be required.
