BimmerWorld View - The stock rear shock mount bushings in E8X 1-Series and E9X 3-Series are foam that can be compressed with your fingers. That means minimal connection between your car and the shock that is controlling its movement over the road. If the shock can't do its work, you are giving up significant handling capability. Powerflex has extensive experience in automotive suspension and chassis systems and has combined these skills with advanced polyurethane manufacturing techniques. Durometer is standardized per fitment and location, so you can rest assured knowing the design engineers have selected the optimal urethane hardness for this specific part. The Street option will significantly increase performance with minimal increase in NVH, if any at all, while the Track option is ideal for more serious performance and track use where NVH is less important.
Powerflex copper-based grease is supplied with every bushing set, and they will rarely need re-lubing due to the unique design features built into the material to hold the lubricant.
NOTE: These Powerflex RSMS are designed to fit standard shock absorbers and performance shock absorbers with 10mm threads only. Most non-adjustable shocks will have a 10mm shaft diameter including OE, Bilstein, KONI non-adjustable. These units will fit the E9X M3 with standard non-EDC suspension. Rear Shock Mounts do not fit M3 with stock EDC suspension.
