This part is listed by BMW as BMW part number 31306862570 (31 30 6 862 570) and is described as the front rubber spring pad underneath the spring in the strut assembly. It isolates and cups the spring as it sits on the strut and is important to keep clunks and thumps to a minimum when going over bumps. This part number applies to the EDC (Dynamic & Adaptive) front strut (not for cars without EDC).
