Lead Technician

Overall Responsibility:
Responsible for the overall preparation and maintenance of the race team. Should provide quality control of crew member’s preparation of vehicles and equipment as well as a constant barometer of team needs, spares parts, equipment, etc.

Physical Requirements:
Standing, bending, heavy lifting, crawling under car, pushing vehicles, carrying and loading equipment.

Classification: 
Exempt

Key Job Duties:
● Must exhibit a mastery of assembly/ disassembly techniques and strong ability with mechanic’s hand tools.
● Oversee repairs, modifications, and improvements to race cars needed between events
● Work closely on development, fabrication, and parts testing as prescribed by team engineers, series rule changes, or other given racing needs.
● Inventory and Maintain Complete Spares list
● Submit proper electronic order sheet for replacement parts/ spare post event 
● Assembly and prep of spares and new parts
● Aggressive hands-on work combined with direction and leadership of other
crew members during incidents at the race track (motor swaps, crash repair,
etc.)
● Accounting of all parts and supplies used from the trailer in a given race
event.
● Travel for test, race, and promoter events required

Educational Requirements:
● High school diploma or equivalent

● Knowledge of automotive systems
