This package includes the three V-belts, timing belt, and tensioner with spring for the M20 engine used in E30 325e and 325i.

The timing belt on the M20 6 cylinder is notorious for being an "engine killer" when it finally lets go and fails. When the M20 timing belt fails, the top and bottom ends of the engine become out of sync, crashing the valves into pistons and doing catastrophic damage. For this reason, the timing belt should be inspected and replaced periodically to ensure this type of failure doesn't happen to your classic BMW.
A water pump is typically done at the same time as the belt but only because they require removal of the same parts for access. If you already did the water pump, have one on hand, or there is nothing wrong with it, this package of M20 belts is perfect for you.
* BMW offered the A/C belt as either 810mm or 825mm. The 810 is “officially” superseded to 825 but both are still available from OEM suppliers. BMW also changed the tensioner bracket to a longer one. The 825 has been more common but either one could be on your car. If in doubt check the belt currently on your car and call us with the spec you want.
This package can be modified to exclude any of the belts if you have removed that equipment. Please call or email for a custom belt package.
This kit uses parts manufactured by the original supplier to BMW for this part, as well as many other engine components. As the OEM it meets all of BMW's original design, fitment, and performance requirements and is TUV approved. OEM parts are the best alternative to more expensive Original BMW parts because they are virtually identical without the inflated price tag. This part has a two year warranty.
