This part is listed by BMW as BMW part number 12141726066 (12-14-1-726-066) and is described as Crankshaft Position Sensor - E36 325i 325is 325ic M3 1992-1995 E34 525i 1991-1995.
If your crank position sensor (CPS) has failed, it will leave your BMW unable to start. Symptoms include cranking, but engine not firing. This is because without the signal from a working crank position sensor on the M50/S50 engine, the engine's computer (or engine control unit / ECU) can not determine how to time the spark. Without the CPS signal, your BMW's computer just won't fire the spark plugs, and you'll be stuck in the driveway.
This CPS is designed and engineered in Germany by Meyle to match or exceed the OEM part in every way. Meyle sees their products as an "OEM Premium" level of quality and value. Meyle emphasizes research, engineering, and testing even when reproducing an original design. Meyle parts are developed strictly in line with the guidelines and specifications of their own engineers in Hamburg, Germany and overseen and tested in the production process. Meyle parts are manufactured under ISO/TS 16949 standard, TUV approved, and have a four year warranty.
