All magnetic drain plugs are not created equal and few are as advanced as this Gold Plug. 

We found these premium magnetic drain plugs and fell in love! They have the proper shoulder design to fit all aluminum or steel BMW oil pans. Nothing less than the absolute highest quality control and design is their requirement so this drain plug is made from stainless steel and the threads are precision cut for a tighter seal. The magnet is stronger so it creates a larger magnetic field to collect more metal. A weaker magnet does not collect as much material as this one. 

All magnetic drain plugs collect fine particles of metal that are floating in your oil. But recent examination of the most popular drain plugs on the market has revealed some glaring flaws and led us to offer a ultra premium design. The other plug we offer is sold by many online retailers and is modeled after an older BMW drain plug design that was superseded around 2006. While it does sort of work in 2006+ cars, we decided it was no longer appropriate to offer it for later models (it still works fine on early cars). After comparing that plug with the Gold Plug, there was no question which we wanted in our own cars. 

One aluminum seal washer is included but we suggest ordering extras.
