Thermostats
A BMW thermostat controls the flow of coolant from your BMW engine through the radiator. During warmup coolant flows, but not into the radiator until proper operating temperature has been reached. Only then does the BMW thermostat open and allows coolant to move through your radiator for engine cooling, adjusting flow rate to ensure safe operating temperatures under all conditions. Whether a thermostat is stuck open (engine too cold) or thermostat stuck closed (engine too hot) an old or failing thermostat must be replaced immediately. Use our SEARCH BY MODEL feature to filter these items for your BMW.
