Water pump & Thermostat overhaul for N20 engines used in F30 328i, F32 428i, F22 228i.
This is a package with an OEM electric water pump, mounting bolts, thermostat, and related hoses for the N20/N26 4-cylinder engine and manual transmission used on F22 228i, 228ix (2014, 2015), F30 328i (2012, 2013, 2014, 2015), F32/F33 428i (2014, 2015), including xDrive models. This kit only fits cars with manual transmission.

We included the hoses that attach to the water pump and thermostat. There are many other hoses that branch off from these but we had to stop somewhere. The water pump is an electrical component now and is controlled by the engine computer. It only works when it has to, including even when the engine is shut off. This reduces fuel consumption and has less parasitic drag on the engine. Failures are usually caused by the electronics inside the pump so there is almost no warning of an impending failure or early signs of overheating. One of the only warning signs of electric water pump failure is if the electric fan suddenly starts working all of the time at its highest speed. This is because the pump has stopped, or not responding, and the fans are kicking in to take up the slack. Depending on operating conditions you may only have minutes before the engine shuts off to prevent serious overheating.
These are OEM cooling components manufactured by the original suppliers to BMW for these parts, as well as many other cooling parts. As the OEM it meets all of BMW's original design, fitment, and performance requirements and is TUV approved. OEM parts are the best alternative to more expensive Original BMW parts because they are virtually identical without the inflated price tag. These parts have a two year warranty.
