The BimmerWorld View: vacuum bleeding is still the best, and proper, method for bleeding the S55 cooling system. But at the track or under a time crunch sometimes you need something faster. This remote bleed line gives you that opportunity. CSF heat exchanger required.
This Banjo fitting and line screws into an existing bung on the CSF charge air cooler radiator. The line has a standard bleed screw on the end (like a caliper bleed screw). We typically leave this line attached to the F8X CSF radiator and secured with the included p-clip. When needed, unscrew the bleeder (two wrenches required), turn on power at the switch to cycle the electric water pump, raise the hose up, and let the air bleed out, then close (tighten) the screw. Great for quick and repeated bleeds at the track to get proper coolant circulation and ensure stable IATs.
Note: the CSF heat exchanger is required for this add-on. The factory radiator does not have the threaded bung necessary for this mod.
