Front Cowl Gasket For Convertible Top - E36 318i 323i 325i 328i M3

This is the Genuine BMW front cowl gasket and side rail seal, made specifically for the convertible top of the 1994-1999 E36 3 Series Convertible models. 

This weather strip is used on E36 318ic, 323ic, 325ic, 328ic, and E36 M3 Convertibles in model years 1994, 1995, 1996, 1997, 1998, and 1999. 

A very important piece, this front header gasket seals the front edge of the convertible top to the windshield frame, and it extends rearward along the top edges of the side windows. If you are getting leaking / water seeping when it rains in your E36 convertible, this seal has likely failed and is no longer sealing correctly. 

Not only is this seal is a very common source of water leaks, it is also very easily damaged when the convertible top is replaced. Having a new top won't help seal out water if this front edge gasket is damaged or not working correctly. 

This part is listed by BMW as BMW part number 54318204146 and is described as Front Seal - E36 318ic 323ic 325ic 328ic M3 Cabriolet 54-31-8-204-146. 

Supersedes older BMW Part # 54318135258 (54-31-8-135-258). This is the latest gasket from BMW, and includes and design or manufacturing improvements from the factory since the original version.
